2009 ROUNDTABLE ROLLOUT

If you've read these Briefs for any amount of time at all, you've seen us refer to the series of six "PowerUser" Roundtables we hosted across the country last October.

Keith and I had more fun with the Roundtables than with anything we've done since we launched TaxCoach almost four years ago. (Has it really been that long since my last consulting gig? No wonder I actually missed being at the airport! -Keith.) And they were such a hit, we knew we had to do it again.

Now we're pleased to roll out our 2009 events. TaxCoach Roundtables are intensive full-day sessions in hands-on, small-group settings -- hosted at private business clubs, not convention hotels -- dedicated to exploring TaxCoach’s unique combination of tax-planning and business development tools.

There are no outside speakers. No outside sales pitches. Just Keith and I, walking you step-by-step through using TaxCoach from start to finish.

Before you read on, ask yourself this: what do you want from your TaxCoach membership?

How about billing $170,000 in tax-planning fees, like one member in San Diego?

Maybe charging $5,000 for a single plan (three times for three different clients), like another member outside Washington D.C.?

Generating 65 tax-preparation clients from a single seminar, like a third member outside Detroit?

How about opening a new office on October 1, and generating 276 new clients by the end of tax season, like a fourth member in Florida?

If those are the sort of results you want, there's no better way to get them than attending the 2009 Roundtables.

Here are just a few of last year's reviews:

“If you want to manage your practice instead of your practice managing you, attend a Roundtable!”
Ken Blake, Brea, CA

“[Attend] only if you want to increase your income!”
Steve Schuneman, EA, Las Vegas, NV

“You will earn more in one hour by using the things learned in the session than you would have earned by staying at work the whole day of the training.”
Dominique Molina, CPA, San Diego, CA

"Every Olympic medalist had a coach to help them reach their potential. We as tax professionals also need a coach. TaxCoach provides the best program I've found."
Hal Rosen, CPA, Salt Lake City, UT

"Even if you are a seasoned TaxCoach user, this seminar will definitely add to your marketing toolbox. Paid for itself in the 1st hour. I look forward to next year's Roundtable!"
Mark Allen, EA, Cameron Park, CA

(Here you go, Mark! See you in San Francisco!)

"I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation and I learned a lot from both of you. The round-table format was great and I learned a lot from the group, but watching you both role-play the tax planning interview was the most helpful part of the day for me. I couldn't quite wrap my brain around how I was going to sell the plan and my expertise without giving away the farm. Watching you both go through it live, step-by-step, cleared it all up.

I almost didn't attend because the materials and resources you provide as part of the subscription lay out everything pretty well. I changed my mind at the last minute because I knew I'd learn something worth more than the cost and, if nothing else, I'd walk out with additional motivation. I wasn't disappointed in either case.

I'm rethinking all of my processes from top to bottom to take best advantage of everything TaxCoach has to offer and I look forward to working with you more closely in the future."
James E. Hall, CPA, Ontario, CA

“I think you two have magic in a bottle.”
Joe Cumley, EA, Olathe, KS

“Anyone who wants to obtain maximum value & generate maximum fees from TaxCoach should attend a Roundtable.”
Buzz Rose, CPA, Pittsburgh PA

“Either the Ed & Keith information or the group discussion would make it worthwhile – together they equal an excellent day.”
Dave Toney, CPA, Cincinnati, OH

“It’s worthwhile for the business discussion even if you don’t do many tax plans.”
Scott Brown, CPA, Waterbury, CT

“The subject matter was nicely diversified and I consider it time well spent.”
Bob Ruit, Poughquag, NY

“The information is invaluable.”
Pam Burns, CPA, EA, Gainesville, FL

“If you want to capture the high-end clients, you need to attend the Roundtable. Nothing beats interaction from other tax business owners & the expertise Ed & Keith bring to the table!”
Larisa Humphrey, Atlanta, GA

“Make plans to attend at earliest opportunity. Well worth time invested. Great way to jumpstart TaxCoach experience.”
Bill Marks, Ponte Vedra, FL

“You would be crazy not to attend.”
James Oliver, EA, Shaker Heights, OH

“This seminar is the best 8 hours you’ll spend if you’re interested in adding quality business clients who need and want tax-planning services.”
Debbie Smith, Walnut Ridge, AR

Like I said before -- we knew we had to do it again. Only bigger and better!

This year, we’re back with two sessions. We’ve picked six convenient locations across the country and six dates from April through October:

Come to one or come to both and put your tax-planning practice on steroids! Click here for complete details, including daily agendas, and a registration form. (All-Stars and Hall of Famers, see the Roundtables link on the left (blue) side of the All-Stars page to register for free.)

Last year, Keith and I struggled to price the Roundtables. In the end, we chose not to make them a profit center, and priced them at $397 just to cover costs. And if the testimonials you read are any indication, we left a lot of money on the table.

This year, we resolved to bump the price to $497. But we realize times are tough, so we’ve decided to give you our own $100 “Roundtable Economic Stimulus.” That makes the final price $397, just like last year. It’s not as good as billions from the government. But we’re confident our stimulus will do more for you than all those billions going to AIG!

Coming to both Basic and Advanced Roundtables? Take another $50 off, for a final price of just $744.

All-Stars and Hall of Famers come free! (Principals only.)

You can recover that investment with just one new client. But don’t think of just “recovering” it. Think of multiplying it, dozens of times over. We’re so confident we guarantee it!

We’ve worked hard to assemble our agenda. We’ve tested our presentations with members just like you across the country, and we’re confident this is the information you want. So . . . .

If you make it through an entire Roundtable without learning at least one new strategy that you would swear to an IRS auditor will be worth 10 times your investment, just let us know and we’ll refund your entire registration fee right on the spot.

Space is limited, so reserve your seat now. And we mean it! These aren't hotel ballrooms with lecterns and microphones. They're small rooms for real back-and-forth discussions, around the table. (Get it?) Just choose which session best meets your needs:

JETTING FOR CEOs

Are you a fat-cat CEO? Has the recession cost you your corporate jet? If so, you'll want to see JetBlue Airways' online "CEO's Guide to Jetting," an introduction to commercial air travel for CEOs only, with no minions, lackeys, or "regular people" allowed. If you haven't already seen it, visit www.welcomebigwigs.com -- it's really quite hysterical.

Keith and I have talked before about using the news to market your business, and JetBlue's gag site is a great example of doing just that. Are you using the news in your marketing?

If so, show us! Send us your ad, letter, or web site link mocking the recession to market your practice. If we use your copy as an example in future Briefs, we'll give you $100 in TaxCoach Bux, good towards any level of membership fees or Roundtable registration.
