WHERE'S ED?

Keith here. It's a good thing that Ed doesn't do many returns himself anymore, because he has had a dog of a week. Over the weekend his computer hard drive crashed (how's that for timing?), and as the clock turned past midnight to April 15, Ed was in an ambulance, on his way to the hospital with a pretty miserable strain of food poisoning.

He'll live — he was home by morning, and even stopped into the office so he could print out extensions! But he is looking a bit puny. So, today is an ideal day to issue a particularly brief Briefs.

Next week we'll talk about marketing plans after The Season. But for today, let us just say this one thing: Congratulations on having made it to the 15th!

Take a deep breath, relax, and — take a look at your bank account. Seriously, right now, go look at your bank balance.

I'm not kidding — go ahead!

Did'ja do it? OK, then consider this: if you'd like it to be bigger next year, then come join us for the 2010 SuperTable. If you'd like to finish the 2011 tax season with lower AP, then come join us for our national meeting, and learn about monthly billing — we're dedicating a full day to pricing. If you'd like to be less exhausted at this exact moment next year, come join us in New Orleans May 5-7. We're going to stroll through The Quarter, eat some étouffée and talk about how you leverage TaxCoach to build your dream business.

As Ed said — I don't understand why anyone would miss this. So get the details and register while seats are still available: www.TaxCoachSuperTable.com.

See you in New Orleans! Hooooweee, wondermous!

THINNER SCHEDULE

Unbelievably, we had strong attendance again on the weekly call-in yesterday, April 14 — in the death throes of The Season. And we made a couple of announcements:

1). For many months now, we have been including the question log from the call in the Briefs, the idea being to let everyone know what sorts of things we talk about on the call. Apparently we've gotten the point across, because the attendance has yet to abate. So we're going to do our part for the planet — well, I am; Ed's still one of those guys who sees fit to trash the place — and stop printing the questions log.

If something comes up and the answer has broad impact, we'll still publish it. But otherwise, you get the idea. Questions on TaxCoach strategies, using the software, delivering plans, pricing, or marketing? Join us for the call, most Wednesdays at 1pm Eastern.

2). That said, for the next several Wednesdays, we will not be having member call-ins. There's a lot going on! But we're going to make up for it with a couple of Monday shows. Here's the schedule into May:

  • Weds, April 21 — no call. Certified Tax Coach Academy, San Diego.
  • Monday, April 26 — Member Call-In, 1pm Eastern.
  • Weds, April 28 — no call. Ed's finally going to get a short vacation in!
  • Monday, May 3 — Member Call-In, 1pm Eastern.
  • Weds, May 5 — no call. TaxCoach "SuperTable" in New Orleans.
  • Weds, May 12 — Member Call-In, 1pm Eastern.
    Usual schedule resumes.

Elite members (All-Stars, Press Club, and Hall of Fame), remember the next monthly webinar is Tuesday, April 27 at 4pm Eastern.. We'll be talking about the tax implications of the healthcare reform act, and taking it to your clients in a way that makes you the hero. Watch The Scout or check the All-Stars page within TaxCoach for details and registration instructions.

Talk to you on the 26th.
